How the Process Works

A web host stores your website on their servers.  When people type in your domain name (ex:  www.YourDomain.com) their computer knows to go to your web host's servers for your website.  Just like when someone dials your phone number, the call is connected to your telephone.

Web site.  If you don't already have a web site built or the software to build your website (such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.) we have a web site builder that you can create your web site with. 

It's very easy to use and is FREE with each of our accounts.  Just click the box on the order form to let us know you want it.

Domain name.  If you don't already have a domain name, you can register one here at the same time you sign up for your hosting account.  The cost is just $15.95/year. 

If you already have a domain name, you can use it with us.  You will just need to point your domain name to our servers.  This is also called changing your Domain Name Server information (DNS.)  This is so that when someone types in your domain their computer will know to come to our servers. 

This is very easy to do and we have step-by-step guides that show you exactly how to change your name server information at the 10 biggest domain registrars.  It's really easy, but if you need help with it, just let us know and we will be glad to assist you. 

Please note:  it takes 2-3 days for name server changes to go around the world so that all the computers out there will know to come to our servers for your website.  So, if you don't see your website as soon as you sign up for an account and upload your files there is nothing wrong with your account.  It just means the name server changes you made haven't gone around the world yet. 

Web Hosting Account.  Your web hosting account is where you store your website and send and receive emails from your domain name. 

Please note that a web hosting account doesn't take the place of your internet connection (such as earthlink, aol, etc.)  You will need the internet connection so you can send and receive your email and see your website.
