How to Transfer Your Website Files to Your Hosting Account using Ws_FTP LE

First you will need to enter your website settings. 

How to Enter your Website Settings

1.  You will see this box.  Click New. 

2.  In the profile name box, enter your domain name.

3.  In the Host Name/Address box, if your domain has NOT yet propagated (i.e., if your hosting account is new and your domain name is not yet pointing to our servers) put 66.220.27.249   If your domain name has propagated, put ftp.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name.)

4.  For Host Type, leave it as Automatic Detect.

5.  In the User ID box, put the user ID that was mailed to you in your welcome e-mail.

6.  In the Password box, put the password that was mailed to you in your welcome e-mail.

7.  Click the box that says Save Pwd.

8.  Click the Apply button.

9.  Click the button at the top that says Start Up.

10.  In the Initial Remote Site Folder box, put /public_html.

11.  Click the Apply button.

12.  Click the OK button.

You should now be connected to your hosting account.

Once your domain name propagates, you should replace the 66.220.27.249 with ftp.yourdomain.com.  After that, you won't have to do anything to these settings.  They will remain entered.  You won't need to enter this information each time.

How to Transfer Files to your Hosting Account

You will see a split screen like the one below.   The screen on the left lists all the files and folders in your computer.  The screen on the right shows the files and folders in your web hosting account.

1.  To transfer files, in the screen on the right click on the folder your website files are in (you may need to browse for the folder using the green up arrow.)

2.  Highlight all of the files you wish to transfer.

3.  Click the right arrow button in the middle of the screen.

That's it.  That's all you have to do.  Your files will appear in your web hosting account. 

To delete files from your web hosting account, highlight the file you wish to delete then click the delete button.

To transfer files from your hosting account to your computer, highlight the files you wish to transfer then click the arrow pointing left in the middle of the screen.

If your session times out, click the Connect button at the lower left part of the box.  This will take you back to the General screen.  Click OK and it will reconnect you.  It is set to time out after a certain amount of time for security reasons.
